The closest thing to paradise only 5 hours away.
Kukui`ula is the first & only Private Club community on Kaua`i and has been developed by Kukui`ula Development Company (Hawaii), LLC, which is comprised of DMB, Inc. of Scottsdale and Alexander & Baldwin of Honolulu. The 1,010-acre Kukui`ula residential community, located on the island of Kaua`i’s southern coast in Po‘ipū, is nestled between the National Tropical Botanical Garden and historic Old Koloa Town.
Kukui`ula is a historic Hawaiian place name. The meaning of Kukui`ula comes from the three kukui/candlenut lava rock bowls that were placed on the property, at Kukui`ula Harbor and on a mountain above in Kalaheo, to guide Hawaiian voyagers to Tahiti and back, as well as fishermen back to Kukui`ula Harbor. In addition, the property was the McBryde Sugar Plantation from 1899 to 1996 and was one of the most successful and enduring of the sugar plantations of Hawai`i. Although it was named after the McBryde family, it was owned by “Big Five” companies: first Theo. H. Davis and later Alexander and Baldwin.
Today Kukui`ula comprises a collection of custom ocean view home sites and luxury homes, villas, cottages and bungalows. The private $100 million+ clubhouse serves as the social and recreational centerpiece of the community and includes the main clubhouse, a world class spa, the Golf Clubhouse, a Tom Weiskopf-designed 18-hole golf course, and an inviting collection of swimming pools featuring a (man-made) beach and sand-pit volleyball court. The club also offers an Upcountry Farm & Lake and orchard park area.
With lands starting at $700,000 and complete homes starting at $1,600,000, owning a piece of paradise is closest that you might think.
Kukui`ula is accessible by domestic and international flights into Lihue Airport (LIH), with direct flights from several major U.S. cities.
